Coming Soon: The Other Worlds of Doctor Who

The-Other-Worlds-of-Doctor-WhoTo celebrate fifteen years of Aimless Wanderings a decade or so early, we’re excited to announceΒ The Other Worlds of Doctor Who.

The Master, Eric Klieg, Tulip Taylor and the Burnplank team are back for their very own adventures, rounded off by a story featuring the Sorry Doctor and Pompous Doctor for their first ever meeting.

The Other Worlds of Doctor Who is a special one-off wave of four short trips, exploring perspectives of the best friends and enemies of the Doctor.

Returning to write for these stories are Joel H Joelson, Phoenix Smith and Billy Treacy, but they will also be joined by newcomers Lewis Christian and Jacob C Rose.

The episodes are as follows:

1. Martin’s First Bark
by Joel H Joelson & Billy Treacy

2. Master of the World
by Jacob C Rose & Phoenix Smith

3. Tulip Taylor: Earth Defenderer
by Lewis Christian & Billy Treacy

4. Colin
by Joel H Joelson & Billy Treacy

The Other Worlds of Doctor Who will be released in between episodes three and four of the Dynamite Doctor’s second wave, which will be split into two parts (because apparently that sort of thing is a really cool idea that definitely works and will not in any way damage a show).

    1. I’m sure the new writers will do a great job. Deep Canon has already demonstrated Phoenix and Jacob work great together and all you have to do is read Lewis’ reviews and his forum antics to know he has a scarily good grasp on storytelling with this series and a sense of humour that certainly clicked with me.

  1. I don’t know what this means but I’,m looking forward to it anyway! πŸ™‚

Looking forward to seeing how Lewis does , as well as how Phoenix and Jacob do on a second time round (Jacob wrote ‘Fetch’ by the way, thought this is his first series story or something).

    1. How long has your thing been announced? Because AW involves a lot of planning ahead and it could have been planned before you announced it. Not to mention it’s more parodying the new series’ tendency to split it up.

        1. Id like to point out that the series split was conceived around the same time we announced Dynamites first wave, I believe. The idea was to lampoon series 6 with “a pointless split” but having read that stories either side of this split… I think it might work πŸ˜›

          1. Just to clarify. Cos I think my comment can be misconstrued.

I think the split will have a better effect that the series that inspired it πŸ˜›

  2. I just have to turn on my phone and it explodes with you and big finish announcements! Why do u do this? πŸ˜ƒ

  3. Huzzah! The AW crew caved in and let me write! Remember kids- if YOU want to write for AW, just ask them over and over again! I’m sure it won’t irritate them!

But seriously, it’s a beautiful privilege to mess up the Aimless Wanderings canon, and I hope you’ll enjoy the story when it comes out- Me & Phoenix are a good team, like peanut butter and jelly!

I joke. He’ll be locked in the corner as I type up some awful fanfic πŸ˜‰

    1. ‘Pompous stroked Dynamite’s Sonic Screwdriver. Gazing with intense love. As if he’d just read some Rose/10 fanfiction.’

      1. Did someone mention Rose/10 fanfiction? ~the Rose/10 fanfiction Doctor

First Donna and 10 confirmed for Big Finish, now this, I may just need to squeeeeee!

Also this feels slightly inspired from The Last Adventure, can you confirm/unconfirm my belief?
